Width = beads per row
In the Kandi pattern maker, Width is beads per row around the cuff (~15–40, often default 25). Sizing: beads per row. Changing width rescales the motif — lock it before fine color work or final upload.
Recommended flow: test-fit → lock width → upload / tune colors → read row-by-row. Skipping the fit test at default 25 is the most common rebuild.
Colors and max colors
Colors: pony or Perler palettes, plus Max colors. Too few muddies text/emoji; too many means constant color changes while stringing. No remove-background — crop first or erase after Edit. Privacy: local images.
Row-by-row
Row by row lists beads to string. Row 1 is the bottom row; letters match Materials. Do not read top-down or the cuff will be upside-down.
Failure modes: starting from the visual top of the preview; changing width mid-project but keeping an old row list; running out of a color because Materials was ignored. Re-read the full table after any parameter change.
