Using Pixtern

Swap one color everywhere (not just a fill)

After brand remaps, unifying a backdrop, or merging near skin tones, Replace all is far faster than cell-by-cell fixes. Select the new current color first.

Steps

  1. Select the new color as current.
  2. Choose Replace all (or R).
  3. Click a cell of the old color — every matching cell updates.

Use Pick (I) first if needed. Undo if you change your mind (undo). Shortcuts: keyboard shortcuts. Re-check Materials and re-export CSV when shopping lists matter.

Vs fill

Fill only floods a connected same-color region. Replace all changes that color everywhere, even disconnected speckles — ideal for backdrops or merging a shade across the board.

Typical cases and checks

Use Replace all when a quantized background is too busy, a brand remap looks wrong, or you want a new palette without regenerating. Afterwards: re-read Materials, enable Show codes, export CSV if shopping.

For one connected region only, use Fill (G) so distant matching pixels stay untouched.

After a brand switch

Fix poor nearest matches with Replace all so materials match stock (brand palettes). Switching brand remaps everything; Replace all only changes the color you click.
