How it works

Design a kandi cuff in three steps

  1. Size the cuff

Set beads per row (around the wrist) and the number of rows. 25 × 10 is a good first cuff.

  2. Paint the design

Pick pony bead colors and paint bead by bead; fill whole rows in one click.

  3. String it

Follow the written rows, each listing how many beads of each color to string.

Tips

Designing kandi cuffs

A kandi cuff is several rows of pony beads strung together. Designing it on a grid first means no surprises halfway through stringing.

Beads per row

Most adult cuffs are 20 to 30 pony beads around; measure loosely around the widest part of your hand. The design repeats around the wrist, so leave a plain gap or make the edges match.

Rows and stitch

The grid stacks beads straight up, as in multi-stitch (ladder) cuffs. Peyote cuffs offset every other row by half a bead.
