Upload an image
Open the Perler bead pattern maker. Use Upload an image, drag-and-drop, or paste (Ctrl+V). JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF — processing stays in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
The hint text matches Drag & drop, click, or paste (Ctrl+V). You can also tap a sample under «Or try a sample:» (heart, mushroom, cat, and so on) if you only want to try the controls.
Small existing pixel art is detected and kept one bead per pixel so it is not blurred.
Colors / brand
Open Colors and pick the brand you own: Perler, Hama, Artkal, MARD or Nabbi. Every cell is rematched to that brand’s real codes and names.
All five use the same ~5 mm size and pegboards. MARD is common in China (largest palette); Perler in North America; Hama in Europe. Gallery detail pages offer the first four brands only — Nabbi is available here in the maker (and in the designer).
Screen colors are approximate reference values. Check similar shades against your real beads.
Width in pegboards
Width is measured in pegboards, not arbitrary pixels. One large square board is 29 × 29 beads. Presets usually cover one / two / three boards wide (labels like the localized form of «1 pegboard(s) wide»); Custom lets you set your own width.
Red lines on the chart show where each board ends. One board suits icons and simple characters; faces and pet photos need at least two to stay recognizable; three boards show more detail but take longer to place. PDF printing splits one page per board with row and column numbers.
Max colors
Max colors caps how many bead colors the conversion may use. The slider ends roughly map to Simple and Rich. Start around 10–15: fewer colors give cleaner blocks and a shorter shopping list. Portraits and photos may need 20–30 with MARD or Artkal.
Remove background
With Remove background on, a plain background around the subject is left empty so you do not buy beads for it. Adjust Background tolerance between Keep more and Remove more. Busy or low-contrast backgrounds work less well — crop closer to the subject first.
Cleanup & dithering
- Clean up stray pixels — removes isolated speckles. Keep on for most photos.
- Smooth gradients (dithering) — mixes neighboring colors for mid-tones (skies, skin). Leave off for logos and flat cartoons.
If the pattern looks noisy: lower max colors, keep cleanup on, turn dithering off, and crop tighter.
Edit on the pattern
After generation, switch between Pattern and Original. Pick a color in the materials list, then use Paint, Fill, Erase and Pick on the grid, with Undo / Redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y). Counts update as you edit.
PDF / PNG / CSV / Share
- PDF — printable chart (one pegboard per page) plus materials. English UI labels this PDF; Chinese UI says 打印.
- PNG — image download of the chart
- CSV — bead counts for shopping
- Share — publish to the community gallery (sign-in required)
Turn on Show codes when you want letters or codes in each cell that match the materials list.

- Conversion stays in the browser; the original file is not uploaded.
