Minecraft pixel art from an image — with stack counts

Build plans from a picture, or paint block by block. Control names match the live Minecraft pixel generator and designer.

Generator vs designer

Block families and width

In Colors, pick wool, concrete, terracotta, or all three (48 colors). Set Width in blocks; height follows the image. Concrete is brightest; terracotta helps with shading; wool is easiest to dye early in survival.

Stacks of 64

The materials list uses the {s} stacks + {r} format — full stacks of 64 plus the remainder — so gathering matches in-game stacks.

Background and edit

Turn on Remove background so a plain background around the subject stays empty. Tune with Background tolerance. Then press Edit and fix cells with paint, fill, erase and pick.

Blank-grid drawing

In the designer, set Canvas size size in blocks (multiples of 16 line up with chunks), pick a block color and paint. Same stack counts and exports. Gallery patterns open here via Edit.

Circle and sphere helpers

For round builds use the circle generator or sphere generator. Full walkthrough: Make Minecraft circles, spheres, and banner designs.

Practice tips: in survival, prefer a single block family to cut dyeing trips; start narrower and add detail later. Stacks of 64 match inventory gathering. Busy skies respond poorly to remove-background — crop the subject first.
